The Lebanese Army's Intelligence Directorate freed a kidnapped Syrian national during raids in Brital, Baalbek, following security surveillance and monitoring, the Army Command said on August 15.

According to the official statement, the man was abducted during the night of August 14–15 by a group of Lebanese and Syrian nationals who demanded a ransom for his release.

The statement said the Intelligence Directorate was continuing raids aimed at pursuing and arresting people involved in the kidnapping. It did not announce a final judicial outcome.
