Trust & transparency
Editorial standards
How Times of Sidon reports, attributes sources, separates opinion from news and corrects errors.
Our purpose
Times of Sidon is a Lebanon-first publication focused on Sidon, Lebanese civic life, public institutions, culture, enterprise and local history. News reporting is factual; analysis and opinion are clearly labeled.
Sourcing and attribution
We prefer primary sources, identify the origin of externally reported claims and link readers to supporting material when it is public. Sensitive allegations, casualty figures and conflict claims require additional verification. We paraphrase source material instead of republishing it wholesale.
Corrections and updates
We correct substantive errors transparently. Material changes receive an updated timestamp, while the original publication date remains visible. Readers may send correction requests through our contact page.
Independence and dignity
We reject sectarian incitement, antisemitism, collective blame, dehumanizing language and unverified propaganda. We protect victims and minors by withholding unnecessary identifying details. Sponsorship or material support must be disclosed and must not be presented as independent editorial reporting.
