The Internal Security Forces said the Information Branch arrested a suspect after a statue of the Virgin Mary was vandalized in Baramiyeh, in the Sidon district.
According to the August 12 statement, investigators used field and intelligence inquiries to identify the suspect and a branch patrol detained him in the same town less than 24 hours after the incident.
The ISF said the suspect admitted vandalizing the statue during questioning and was referred to the competent judicial authority.
