ISF says Information Branch seized weapons after Bsaba ambush

The Information Branch detained a man in Bsaba after receiving reports about a four-wheel-drive vehicle carrying military-grade weapons in Iqlim El Kharroub, the Internal Security Forces said.

According to the June 23 release, investigators identified the driver through field and intelligence work. A branch patrol set an ambush in Bsaba on June 12 and seized the vehicle after the arrest.

The ISF said officers recovered a Kalashnikov rifle, magazines and ammunition, two hand grenades, a knife, suspected narcotics, a laptop and four mobile phones.

The detainee and seized items were referred to the competent unit under judicial instructions, the statement said. Times of Sidon is reporting the ISF account; no final court outcome was announced.
