ISF details arrests in Mount Lebanon robbery investigation

One suspect was detained after a pursuit in Mar Roukoz and another later surrendered to the Information Branch, the directorate said.

The Internal Security Forces said the Information Branch identified two people suspected of using a silver BMW while carrying out robberies in parts of Mount Lebanon.

According to the June 19 statement, a patrol spotted the vehicle in Mar Roukoz on May 3. The ISF said its driver struck an officer while trying to escape and that officers fired at the tires before the occupants left the car and fled on foot.

The statement said officers detained one suspect while the other escaped. A handbag, laptop, tablet and several mobile phones were reported found inside the seized vehicle. The second suspect surrendered to the Information Branch on June 2, the ISF said.

Both detainees and the seized items were referred to the competent authority under judicial instructions. Reported admissions and other allegations in the release have not been presented here as final court findings.
