Lebanon’s Internal Security Forces said the Information Branch identified and detained one of two people suspected of stealing a car in Zouk Mikael.

According to the June 25 statement, a black Kia Picanto was stolen on June 3 after its window was broken. The vehicle was later found in the same locality after its GPS protection system disabled it.

The ISF said a branch patrol detained the suspect in Maameltein following surveillance. Investigators attributed to him an admission that he and another person had taken the vehicle before abandoning it when they could not restart it.

The suspect was referred to the competent authority under judicial instructions, the statement said. Efforts to locate the alleged accomplice were described as continuing. These allegations have not been reported as a final court judgment.
