Lebanese University’s Faculty of Technology grew from the University Institute of Technology established by decree in 1996. Teaching began in 1997–98, and the Saida centre later became Branch 1 of the renamed faculty.
According to the university, the faculty was established with the French government and the Hariri Foundation. It prepares graduates for technological fields, includes vocational training and maintains double-degree and partnership arrangements with more than 20 French higher-education institutions.
The faculty says its bachelor’s programs received HCERES accreditation in 2021 for a five-year period through 2026. Any claim about accreditation beyond that period should be checked against a new decision.
For Sidon, the institution provides a public-sector base for the technical workforce that local industry, digital services and new ventures need.
